ICAN 2010-2011 Annual Report
The past year has been one of tremendous success and attainment of critical milestones for ICAN’s future growth. The first key milestone was our celebration of the past 20 years – as 2011 marked ICAN’s 20th year serving youth and families. From very humble beginnings serving 30 youth a day, ICAN has grown to serving an average of 150 youth daily through programs that are positively changing the face of our youth and the community they live in.
A second critical milestone achieved this year was the Only ICAN Groundbreaking Ceremony, launching construction on the new ICAN facility located at Folley Park. Shortly after, construction began on the new 21,000 square foot facility, which will allow ICAN the flexibility to serve over 200 youth daily! We also celebrate the many relationships that have been built to foster success in our kids through the Only ICAN Capital Campaign. The campaign was initiated in early 2010 and has received substantial funding to support our $5.65 million goal. ICAN is currently 88% toward completion of this tremendous expansion project and looks forward to the next phase of our growth and service to our community.
Lastly, ICAN ushered in a new phase of leadership in 2011, welcoming Becky Jackson to the team as ICAN’s Chief Executive Officer. Under Becky’s leadership, ICAN has forged forward to ensure programs and services continue to be of the utmost quality and are meeting the substantial needs of the community.
While it has been a year of excitement, considerable growth and much learning, ICAN has stayed true to our guiding mission, never losing sight of our purpose to build productive, self-confident and responsible kids. We continue to create positive changes in youth, while constantly evaluating and evolving our efforts to focus on the issues youth are facing today.
As we step into the future, we look forward to expanding programming to serve a growing need in our community. We look forward to changing the way youth see their future, equipping them to set goals and achieve their dreams. We also look forward to continuing to foster the strong community partnerships and relationships that serve these youth every day. As we watch our dreams become a reality, we recognize that it takes a community to create positive changes in youth, families, and the community…and we thank you!
