Volunteer at ICAN to Make Positive Changes in Chandler, Arizona Youth & Community

Volunteers are one of the most important aspects to ICAN’s success. With so many volunteer opportunities, there is bound to be a volunteer opportunity that fits you! There are a variety of reasons to volunteer from an educational mandatory requirement to using your free time to make a valuable contribution towards a cause that is close to your heart. ICAN is about making positive changes in youth and the community and we are always looking for volunteers to assist in many different areas!

Maybe working directly with youth during their programs appeals to you. Volunteers engage in activities and conversations with youth to help them socially and academically. The time that volunteers spend with youth is also valued as they gain a new role model to talk with. If you have something to contribute, we welcome guest speakers within our youth programs to help teach youth about new subjects.

Administrative assistant volunteers are always needed for simple tasks such as filing to more difficult tasks such as IT assistance.

There are also ICAN groups and committees that you can sit on. The ICAN Women’s Auxiliary group focuses on providing healthy snacks, planning fun quarterly events for the youth, and needed clothing donations. There are event planning committees and leadership committees (Resource Development, Communications & Cultivations, Audit, Finance, Board of Directors) that are made up of amazing community volunteers to help the day to day operations.

Volunteers are always needed for special opportunities such as our Dream Catcher’s Pen Pal Program where youth write monthly to community members and vice versa with the goal that the youth will describe their dreams and how they are continuing to reach them. The weekly math tutoring program partners with engineers from General Dynamics to assist Jr. High students in math studies.
