Let's Talk Download Brochure

ICAN is a free, out-of-school time program that serves East Valley youth. By investing in ICAN’s future through long-term funding, we can leave a legacy deeply rooted in the betterment of the communities we all love so dearly. We can fund innovation through inventive programming. We can grow opportunities for more children to thrive. We can ensure the students have access to the educators, mentors, and staff that uplift us all.

As one of only a handful of free programs like this in the country, we can’t do it alone, but… Together, We Can!

Ways to Give

Leave a legacy of hope by investing in the future needs of our community’s youth through gifts made to ICAN. You can leave a planned gift or directly make a contribution today. If you have any questions about how to donate, we’re here to help.

ICAN by the Numbers

ICAN, a free service to help underserved youth, was founded in Chandler, AZ in 1991 by Henry Salinas in an effort to do something about the violence taking over his neighborhood. Henry’s initial investment of time and compassion blossomed into a full-service youth center whose programs are still free to the community. Today, ICAN continues to positively impact youth, teens, and their families throughout the East Valley.

  • More than 700 East Valley youth served annually
  • Nearly 100% of youth participate in the Free & Reduced-Price School Lunch program
  • More than 80% of youth come from communities of color
  • Youth served range from 5 to 18 years of age
  • 48% of youth are in single parent households

Funding a Foundation of Hope – ICAN’s Core Pillars

Academic Support

By providing literacy, STEAM, homework help, and other educational supports, we can continue to encourage broad academic success and prevent learning loss over school breaks.

Positive Youth Development

In order to help youth succeed, we can continue building competencies like confidence, character and connection to not only support youth through personal change and challenges, but to also enhance lifelong potential.

Enrichment & Future Readiness

By integrating age-appropriate career exploration, college and career readiness, STEAM, and enrichment activities, we can keep fostering early exploration of career fields that they may not have considered to help connect their educational pathways to their future.

Community & Family Support

By continuing to provide essential services at no-cost to our families and youth, we can promote stability, access, and peace of mind for the families we serve.
